User Reviews for Paul Hobbs Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 'Napa Valley' Cross Barn

Winemaker's Notes:

Paul Hobbs 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc aged 20 months in French oak (65% new). This Napa Valley red is Bordeaux-like in character and offers aromas of cassis, lavender, fresh crushed sage, black olive and cedar on the nose. On the palate, generous, savory layers of black fig, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, and graphite with excellent structure and a long finish."The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon jumps from the glass with sweet spices, cloves, menthol, plums, iron, red cherries and tobacco. A soft, supple Cabernet for the year, the 2011 has lovely balance, not to mention considerable early appeal. The finish is long, creamy and expressive. Another year or two should help soften the slightly firm 2011 tannins.” — Antonio Galloni, Vinous (91 Points)
