Amazing nose! Earthy, mellow, not a "fruit bomb" but still lots going on. Lots of raisin/cherry on the palate, but not too sweet or syrupy. Rich but smooth. Had this one at a tasting and everyone was raving. Hard to describe...you'll just have to try it for yourself.

Robert Parker - The generic 2007 Pinot Noir Russian River is an outstanding example of Hobbs' meticulous vineyard sourcing and winemaking. With copious sweet forest floor, plum, black cherry, and earthy notes, a luscious, medium to full-bodied

Opening with a nose of violets and roasted coffee, it offers a well-delineated palate of dark fruits and cola, overlaid with toffee and allspice. Ripe, focused tannins and fine acidity round out this sophisticated pinot noir whose finish goes on and on.

Winemaker's Notes:

The quintessential portrait of assertiveness and refinement in harmony, this inaugural vintage is all about depth and intensity. On the nose, black cherry, plum and floral notes are layered with undertones of damp earth and minerality. The palate is richly textured, offering intriguing layers of the black fruits, anise and earth that will continue to reveal themselves as the wine ages. Tannins are firm and ripe, with balanced acidity adding to the rich mouthfeel and long finish.
