Although this may be a popular style of Pinot Noir, this is not for me. This wine displays cola and dark cherry jam flavors. It is a full flavored style of Pinot Noir with ample body and alcohol. There is some heat on the finish that I don't like.
we had this at 1550 Hyde in SF a few months back and it was specatcular! went with tender pork, grilled duck, and braised rabbit. would have been really nice with salmon too. it was subtle, but had breadth of flavor the texture was like a silk sheet. definitely not for those who are into big cabs and big reds, but all four of us at the table sighed at the same time when we tasted it.

[CH, LBK: grouper] Pleasant on the nose with dark cherries, spice. However, my first few sips were tainted by a little fizz which made me think that the bottle was tainted; it was not stored. Neither the nose nor palate were consistent with a corked bottle, but something was not right--not sure that this experience accurately captured the wine. After ~30mins, the fizz went away but the wine remained subpar. Dark cherries, spice, high acidity, a little heat. KAB agreed.

The 2010 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is beautiful. It has a bit more depth and darker fruit than the 2009. Sweet spices, new leather and licorice are some of the notes that wrap around the finish. This is a terrific showing. Bright ruby. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, cherry-cola, allspice and rose. Silky, gently sweet and focused, with very good depth and intense, floral-accented red fruit character. Silky tannins add focus and shape. This suave wine drinks very well right now.

Perfumed and supple, with rich black cherry, blackberry, floral and spice, gaining depth and nuance. Ends with tight, chewy tannins. Best to cellar. Best from 2013 through 2022.
Good red-ruby. Crushed berries and licorice on the nose, along with a suggestion of game. Sweet dense and peppery, with strong strawberry and cherry flavors of modest complexity. A bit coarser than the 2001s from Hyde. But offers solid structure and finishes with ripe tannins and good persistence.
Vivid ruby-red. Perfumed aromas of black raspberry, nutmeg, cinnamon and rose. Concentrated, broad and densely packed, with good lift and tang to its red berry flavors. Shows refreshing minerality on the taut, focused, long finish.
Layers of ripe, rich black charry and blackberry fruit, it glides across the palate, revealing uncommon depth and dimension and finishing with an amazing aftertaste. Drink now through 2007.
The dark plum color is accompanied by fragrant aromas of strawberry and underbrush. The palate offers perfectly-ripened black cherry and currant flavors that meld seamlessly with earthy accents of bergamot and dried herbs. A touch of acidity accents a lengthy finish.
