Wine Advocate Review Rated 88-90 The 2008 Pinot Noir Russian River exhibits lots of spice box and roasted herb characteristics, and is a slightly more narrowly constructed wine than the 2007. Nevertheless, it possesses good fruit, and should provide enjoyable drinking for 4-5 years. Wine Tasting Notes The color is deep, rich maroon. The nose offers aromas of ripe plum and cherry scented with black tea and cedar. The generous, silky palate welcomes you with luxuriant flavors of black cherry, cola, apple pastry and plum, beautifully woven with notes of dusty rose and warm space. Toasty oak and firm, well-integrated tannins mark its long finish.
Almost a new car leather tone on the nose, as well as wild raspberry, anise and blackberry with spice and touches of mineral and sage. The palate is full of dark sage-laced fruit. Very nice herbaceousness to this wine. - Tasted at Marché bacchus 10/2/10
Managed to get only one bottle of this fabulous '08 Pinot Noir from our future son-in-law for my birthday. We celebrated by pouring this for our daughter, Pam and Matt when he proposed. Only problem it was only a glass apiece! Also had the '09 at a dinner and was almost as good!

Bright ruby at the core that is slightly lighter at the rim. The nose is very floral with notes of rose petal and lavender. Made from the Pommard and Calera clones, it exhibits a dark, saturated plum/ruby/purple-tinged color as well as an enormous bouquet of plums, soy, forest floor, black cherries and black currants, stunning, full-bodied, rich fruit and a supple, luscious finish. This decadent, full-throttle Pinot Noir can be consumed over the next decade or more.
