Well, he’s done it again. Paul Hobbs continues to produce outstanding wines from all over the world. His newest Cabernet release from Napa is incredible. Huge notes of cassis and cherry cola are what first capture your senses; the flavors continue on the palate with eucalyptus and vanilla added to the flavor explosion. The finish is long and savory. Drink some now and put some aside for enjoyment for the nest 15 years. Food pairing: red meats, pasta, Asian Flavor type: fruit-forward Body type: medium-full Finish: elegant

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, juicy wine loaded with dark fruit, mocha, spices and new leather. This rich, expansive Cabernet boasts tons of class and sheer personality. Mint, licorice and spices add complexity as the dark fruit fleshes out on the finish. This is a fabulous wine for the money. The Cabernet is made from To Kalon, Dr. Crane, Las Piedras, Stagecoach and Hyde, and includes a dollop of Petit Verdot from Stagecoach. It is a fabulous effort from Paul Hobbs. Anticipated maturity: 2013–2021.

Inky ruby. Complex aromas of cherry pit, cassis, potpourri and tobacco, along with slow-building smokiness. Fleshy dark berry flavors gain energy and power with air, picking up sweet floral and licorice qualities. A kick of cracked pepper adds vibrancy to the deep, long finish.

Garnet in color and perfumed with cassis and cedar, this cabernet sauvignon opens with tightly-knit red and black fruits.

Big yet nuanced, with tiers of cedar, dark berry, black licorice, gravel and road tar, this is intense, chewy and tannic, with an underlying measure of finesse and detail. Drink now through 2024.- J.L. Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2009 Hobbs, Paul Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 750ml
