Paul Hobbs Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain Cuvée Agustina Richard Dinner Vineyard 2006
93 points Connoisseurs' Guide: Continuing Mr. Hobbs tradition of pushing this vineyard for all it has to offer, he has here authored a wine of amazing depth and density, yet as is the case with the wines from this side-of-the-mountain location, this one has both weight and balance on its side. And as our recent vertical tasting of these wines has shown, the obvious charms of youth are then exceeded by the complex, layered characteristics that take over as the wine ages. Enjoy its ripe citrus and apple fruit now or wait a bit for the wine to fill out. (Oct 2008)

Wine Advocate ReviewRated 90The 2006 Chardonnay Ulises Valdez Vineyard is leaner and more Chablis-like in style. It offers notions of white currants, peaches, and tropical fruits in an austere, less concentrated style than the 2005. A beauty, it should drink nicely for 2-3 years.Wine Tasting NotesOpalescent pale yellow color accompanies a nose brightly scented with green apple and lemon meringue. The boldly-structured, full-bodied palate comes alive on the tongue in a harmonious weave of Asian pear and guava with exotic overtones of green tea and chamomile. A hint of honeysuckle complements the spice and flint that resonate through the lengthy finish.
