Vineyard Character: Scents of orange peel and orange blossom, flavors of fresh green apple, orange marmalade and ginger. This single vineyard Chardonnay is comprised of a blend of Larry Hyde's unique selections of Hyde-Wente, Musque and Robert Young clones Tasting Notes: The 2005 Hyde Vineyard Carneros Chardonnay is crisp, clean and powerful with lively and zesty aromas of ruby grapefruit, Kaffir lime and orange blossom. Elevated flavors of ripe pink lady apple, lemon drops, nectarine and white lily flower are followed by a creamy finish with great acidity and excellent balance of oak. Winemaking: 100% Chardonnay fruit; Whole cluster pressed; Multi-yeast fermentations (wild & cultured); Sur lie aged with weekly stirring; 100% malo-lactic fermentation in barrel; 55% new Burgundian French oak barrels; Bottled without fining or filtration
