Patz & Hall Chardonnay Mendocino County Alder Springs Vineyard 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

This exceptional wine represents the future of Chardonnay from Alder Springs Vineyard. Perhaps our finest Chardonnay bottling from the 2006 vintage, the 2006 Alder Springs - Mendocino Chardonnay offers beautiful density and palate tension with concentrated aromas of spicy cinnamon pastry, honey, peach and pineapple. Beautifully textured with intricate stone-fruit flavors and extraordinary minerality, this is a benchmark wine from an elite mountain vineyard.

The 2004 Chardonnay Durell Vineyardrsquo;s orange blossom-like characteristics are interwoven with plenty of mineral notes as well as a subtle touch of wood. With medium body, good flavor depth and richness, it should drink well for 1ndash;2 years.

Enticing aromas of cedar and sandalwood lead to a rich, unctuous, concentrated core of Asian pear, hazelnut, fig and a hint of citrus. This broad-shouldered Chardonnay will benefit from short-term cellaring, as the finish is long, intense and layered. Best from 2007 through 2011.
