Patz & Hall Chard Hyde 375 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): Bright yellow. Vibrant aromas of lemon zest and minerals with a touch of dusty brown spices. A delicately floral, spicy 2010 with a tart lemon flavor and a lovely impression of salty mineral extract. Very tactile, dry and uncompromising chardonnay. This very suave, refined wine finishes with a strong stony quality and a light touch. 'Always underpowered at the beginning,' notes James Hall. (May 2012)

Dont drink this Chardonnay too cold as it needs a little while in the glass to show its stuff. Right off the bat its austere but when it airs the tropical fruit orange and oak complexities come out. The parts have not yet come together though so give it 34 years to develop. S.H. Wine Enthusiast.
