Wine Tasting Notes The aromas~Honeydew melon, white peach and citrus with a hint of wild fennel - are characteristic of Patianna's grapes, grown by means of biodynamic protocols in gravelly, sandy loam soil. Luscious, vibrant flavors of grapefruit and lemon flavors, accented by a subtle mineral quality, carry through the wine's expansive finish.
We are certified Biodynamic and Organic. We make Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc currently. In march we will release our first vintage of estate Chardonnay. In August we will release our first Zinfandel.

I tried the Patianna '07 and the Southern Point 2010 back to back - both from Marlborough in NZ - a region I love. Granted, the Patianna (bottle wins for design) hit the palate like a chardonay, not with wood, but with creaminess; not bad, but left me wishing for SB. Then the Southern Point came in: a floral nose and citrus mouth, grapefruit landing with inevitable bitterness on the back of the tongue; not unpleasant though. It was when I put the two together that balance was achieved. Perfect. A very few wines shouldn't be messed with - you know who they are, but the rest? Have fun!
