External Reviews for Paternoster Aglianico Aglianico del Vulture Don Anselmo
Rotondo means round in Italian, and this wines modern and rounded approach starts with an intense, ruby red wine with purple highlights, and a clean, straightforward nose with black cherry fruit and preserves. The palate contains the aforementioned fruit with spice (instead of the typical Aglianico ash) and a hint of licorice and violets, finishing with bitter chocolate and dried fruit. It is open and enjoyable now.
Synthesi has a lively, deep ruby red color, with light orange highlights. The nose features a delicately fruity bouquet of prunes and blackberries and aromatic hints of Mediterranean herbs and tobacco leaf all presented in a nicely woven structure of ashy tannins, so typical of the area. The palate is full-bodied, showing a well-balanced elegant and velvety structure as the wine ages.
