Paso Creek Zinfandel Paso Robles 2013

External Review:

Rating: 84/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. Smells of chocolate that drift toward the baked richness of good brownies are pushed further off the expected path by dried leaf and brushy notes in this wine's lesser aromas, and things do not get any better in the mouth. Richness is countered by dryness but not by fruit, and the finish is gritty.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.

Very enjoyable - good for hanging out with friends. Enjoyed it with pork tenderloin.

Patience is key to enjoying the nicely structured zinfandel. It needs at least 30 minutes of air before the flavors can be best appreciated. It's fruity at first and finishes with a cocoa accent. There is acid throughout, but it is well balanced. We like it with our without food. For the price, this is worth it.

Very fruity nose of plums and blueberry. There's some nice woody notes: cedar and spice. Good acids and a bit of a bitter finish.

Deep red color, fruit on the nose but I'm not sure what kind. Pretty well balanced.
