- Paul Hobbs is responsible for this argentine sauvignon blanc and he gave us a nice explanation about the uniqueness of the sauvignon blanc vineyard in the region of Barrancas. The region is mostly stony and full of aluvial gravels and one would not expect to see a sauvignon blanc produced is this hot region, but he says with the due care they can make this very delicate wine. They harvested in early march not at full ripeness, there was no oak involved, no malolactic fermentation, no maceration with the skins and he used selected yeasts to elevate the fruity character he desired. The wine is light yellow/straw read more...color. White flowers and fruits together with a distinctive grassy nose. Very delicate minerality and style. Fresh acidity and very light body, citric and grassy on the mouth too. Finess and elegance are the marks of this wine. [88] (hide)
