Pascal Jolivet Sancerre 2009
Wine Tasting Notes Pale, whitish straw in color. The nose is very fresh, very clean with notes of lime peel, green herbs, black currant; typical, not aggressive. On the palate it is fresh and tightly wound; acidity is tempered by very subtle residual sugar; very clean; alive, racy, youthful. Overall, a dry and elegant wine, well balanced. The different origin of soils express fully their differences and their similarities. Slow evolution, very typical Sancerre.
The nose showed citrus, apple, stony minerals and even a hint of that textbook cat pee. On the palate, it was smooth with flavors of grapefruit, and pineapple in a sweet 'n sour play on each other. The finish was fresh and staying displaying citrus and minerals.
Pours a light yet clear straw color. Aromas of light citrus, sage, quartz and other minerals. Starts off with a nice amount of citrus, mostly oranges, lemons and even some lime. In the middle, the citrus is still there but there is an undertone of wet stones and some quartz. Finishes with nice lemon zest kick. A nicely acidic medium bodied wine. Served this with some lemon shrimp and pasta. Paired really nice.
