User Reviews for Pascal Jolivet Sancerre
Add your reviewThis wine smells clean. It's fresh and the citrus is limes and some lemon with herbs. This wine has some nice acid that is well controlled and balanced. This is a nice Sancerre. It's not special but it is a really serviceable wine. This is our house Sancerre.
Light crisp and delicate. Lemon and a little bit herbaceous. Overall a very clean and precise white. Paired great with cheese tortellini with pesto.
Received this from a friend as they were not a fan. I gladly accepted. Pours a darker brownish straw color, showing some age. Aromas of flint, green herbs, wet stones and citrus. Starts with a nice amount of wet stones, citrus and flint. In the middle, more of the same, but there is some green herbs like sage or thyme. Finishes with more flint and citrus. This is a few years old but still has some of its acidity. Still very crisp and refreshing.
Winemaker's Notes:
Pale, whitish straw in color. The nose is very fresh, very clean with notes of lime peel, green herbs, black currant; typical, not aggressive. On the palate it is fresh and tightly wound; acidity is tempered by very subtle residual sugar; very clean; alive, racy, youthful. Overall, a dry and elegant wine, well balanced. The different origin of soils express fully their differences and their similarities. Slow evolution, very typical Sancerre.
