Parker Estate First Growth Cabernet 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

The grapes were sourced from established vines which were planted in 1986 in the classic, shallow Coonawarra Terra-Rossa soil over limestone rock. Harvest took place between the 1st and 25th April and yields were between 0.6 and 1.5 tonnes/acre. This wine is deep crimson red in colour, with some purple highlights. The nose is extremely complex with cool vintage fruit characters of black olive and prune, combined with sweet earth and truffle notes. The palate is sweet and dense with a super fleshy mouth feel and dense dark fruit flavours of cedar, prune, cassis and liquorice. The finish is very long with a firm finish. Pair it with rare beef and hard cheeses such as a mature cheddar or pecorino.
