Paringa Shiraz South Australia 2009
Wow this is awful. i remember when this was good about four years ago, but now it's overly oaked with intense dislocated spice and fruit that attempts to be something it's not, this is not accounting for the serious heat on the palette (14.6%!!!) Maybe it will even out after a few hours... let's see...

Supple, polished and appealing for its dark, brooding, licorice-accented boysenberry pie flavors, complete with baked dough notes on the enticing finish. Drink now through 2014. 30,000 cases made. -HS
This Shiraz offers so much more than just upfront fruit. Sure, there are blackberries and spice, but you'll also appreciate the fine backbone of acidity, and just the lightest touch of tannin.
