We produce wines and cavas of high quality and the grapes come from our own vineyards - five estates, situated around the winery and in the mountains of Penedés. The altitude varies from 170 to 750 meters and offers a diverse mixture of soils and microclimates that gives a special personality to our wines. At Parés Baltà we have been cultivating our vineyards in an ecological way since 1790, and since the 2004 harvest the vineyards have been certified as ecological/organic. We have our own flock of sheep to fertilize the soils and beehives to encourage pollination. The close proximity of the Mediterranean Sea also influences the quality of our grapes for the better. We are winemakers with a long tradition but with new and fresh ideas. Actually there are three generations working at Parés Baltà: The grandfather Joan Cusiné Hill (born 1917) continues to be active together with his son Joan Cusiné Cusiné but the reins of the business have now passed to his two grandsons - Joan and Josep Cusiné Carol who together are guiding the company into a new era of high quality wine production. The winemaking is in the hands of Maria Elena Jimenez and Marta Casas, enologists and wives of Joan and Josep. Two skilled young women whose efforts are reflected in the quality of the wines that are produced at Parés Baltà; showing fine character and concentration yet with elegance and balance. Penedes, SpainPares Balta Ros de Pacs rose is the perfect wine to usher in the warmer days of spring and summer. This Spanish wine gem is a beautiful rose made of 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Penedes region of Spain. Pares Balta is a family owned winery in the Penedes region with a tradition that goes back to 1790. The vineyards have been certified organic since the 2004 vintage. Winemaking is in the hands of enologists Maria Elena Jimenez and Marta Casas, wives of Joan and Josep Cusine Carol, who together are guiding the company into a new era of high quality wine production. Josh Raynolds of International Wine Cellar rated the 2007 vintage of this wine 89 points (new 2008 release not yet rated) and called it "racy and focused but at the same time weighty, with potent citrus and red berry flavors underscored by dusty minerality."Pares Balta Ros de Pacs is a deep strawberry-red in color with an aromatic nose of orange peel, strawberries, cherries and spice. It is delightfully crisp and clean with medium body and flavors of red berries and pomegranate. No oak. The finish is long, flavorful and refreshing.Enjoy Pares Balta Ros de Pacs now and over the next 3 years as the perfect patio aperitif wine. This wine is a blend of 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 83% Merlot.Cherry and pink color. Delicate on the nose with notes of red fruits from the wood, raspberry and cherry. Elegant aroma.It is light and fresh with a very interesting balance between the acidity level and the light sweetness of the residual sugar. Ideal for a lunch al fresco or on its own on a warm day.
