Very dry and light. Fragrances of soft stone fruits on the nose, peach, apricot and minerality on the palette, nice stonefruit finish. Does not need to be too cold to enjoy.

Penedes, SpainPares Balta Blanc de Pacs is a delightfully refreshing white wine from the Penedes region in the northeast of Spain, just west of Barcelona. Pars Balt is a family owned winery in the Peneds region with a tradition that goes back to 1790. The vineyards have been certified organic since the 2004 vintage. This Spanish white is a blend of 42% Parellada, 25% Macabeu and 33% Xarel.lo, the typical blend for making a sparkling Cava. According to the importer, Bryce McNamee of rising-star Boutique Wine Collection, the Xarello gives the body, Macabeu the fruit and Parellada the delicate freshness and floral notes characteristic of the highest mountains in the Penedes. Josh Raynolds for Stephen Tanzer rated the 2008 vintage of this wine 89 points. No ratings yet on this new 2009 vintage, but we find the way it drinks on a warm summer night is a true wine gem! Pares Balta Blanc de Pacs is soft yellow-green in color with medium body. It has an enticing nose of ripe pear and apple with a light floral background. Dry, crisp and bright, this wine has rich flavors of apple, honeydew, peach and mineral notes. It is fruit-forward and nicely balanced, with a clean finish of tropical fruits. The grapes are handpicked and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then bottled young to retain its bold fruity flavors and freshness. This is an organic wine.Enjoy Pares Balta Blanc de Pacs as the perfect summer apritif wine and with oysters, filet of sole, grilled shrimp, paella, and summer salads.

Parés Baltà is a family owned winery in the Penedès region with traditions that goes back to 1790. They produce wines and cavas of high quality and the grapes come from their own vineyards - five estates, situated around the winery and in the mountains of Penedés. The altitude varies from 170 to 750 meters and offers a diverse mixture of soils and microclimates that gives a special personality to the wines. The vineyards have been cultivated in an ecological way since 1790, and since the 2004 harvest the vineyards have been certified as ecological/organic. They have their own flock of sheep to fertilize the soils and beehives to encourage pollination. The close proximity of the Mediterranean Sea also influences the quality of our grapes for the better. The grandfather Joan Cusiné Hill (born 1917) continues to be active together with his son Joan Cusiné Cusiné but the reins of the business have now passed to his two grandsons - Joan and Josep Cusiné Carol who together are guiding the company into a new era of high quality wine production. This wine is a yellow lemon colour with light green tints. On the nose there is an intense aroma of pear and apple. In the mouth it is fresh with a good acidity. This results in a soft wine with an intense sensation of fruits and freshness on the finish. Serving temperature: 6 - 8°C.
