Editorial Reviews for Parducci Petite Sirah
A nice note of cured meats with a strong tea note then some spicy wood tones and plenty of white pepper tinged black plum and crystallized black berry fruits and even an edge of dried rose. Inky on the palate with an extracted feel up front. Nicely tannic with good supporting acids and a definite milk chocolate and toast top note to the black fruits. This thins out noticeably on the mid-palate turning a bit dilute yet redeems itself with a moderately long finish with a bit of spice complimenting lurking blackberry fruits with a lovely brisk mineral finale that cleanses the mouth. Not fruity and eminently drinkable 87pts Barbecue Quaffing Value!
Man give me a great big rare burger with a thick slice or bermuda onion on it and this will sing!. Lots of plum, sugared raspberry, muddy earth, wood spice, and india ink on the nose with a full, polished feel. Really well integrated structural elements support rich, dark yet fresh fruit in the mouth with a bit of grabbing tannin popping on the moderately long finish. Neither a brute nor rustic, just pure, balanced petite. A lovely wine in its own way. 89pts
User Reviews for Parducci Petite Sirah
Add your reviewway too young. definitely needs two years or more. Even after a long decant I got nuttin.
Rating 87: nose is ok but some hint of aldehyd. Body dry with too much tannin, needs time. I paid $ 11.- .that's too much
Big, fruity, almost licorice like on the nose. Incredibly fruity and powerful - its rich sweet licorice like with stewed blackberries, plums and prunes. The fruit overpowers most else, so if fruits your thing go get this wine! Medium acidity and spicy tannins help balance the wine out.
aromas of lox, blackberries, bubble gum, cranberries on the mouth, fairly tannic, solid body.
big bold summertime grilling wine. dry and acidic which begs for a hunk of meat. I had it with a guacomole cheddar burger with chipotle sauce. the midpalate is the highlight. if it were like the finish this would get a 5.

Grapes: 100% Petite Sirah Vineyards: The grapes for this wine came primarily from two Mendocino vineyards - our estate vineyard in the Talmage Bench, with smaller percentages from vineyards in the Lake County and the Lodi region. The fruit was harvested in mid-September with an excellent balance of sugars and acidity. Vinification: The wine was matured in 58% American oak and 42% French oak. Alcohol 13.5% Taste: Parducci is among Californias pioneer producers of Petit Sirah, a speciality of Mendocino County. Our wine displays a very dark ruby colour and enticing aromas of ripe cherries, wild blackberry, mint and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wines ripe, mouth-filling flavours are rich with dark fruit, chocolate and spice tones, balanced by smooth tannins and a touch of toasty oak in the long, savoury finish. Serve: Enjoy this full-flavoured red with hearty dishes like grilled, marinated tritip, barbecued ribs, mushroom risotto and venison stew. Delicious now, it should age gracefully in the bottle for several years.

Full flavors of sweet, ripe fruit and cocoa are complemented by supple tannins and a cleansing note of mint. This is the perfect wine for anything of equal heft: tri-tip, crisp roasted duck, stuffed e
Petite Sirah is a Mendocino specialty, and Parducci was one of the first wineries to bottle this varietal. Dark ruby in color with aromas of cherry, blackberry, mint, and chocolate, this big red's got spicy, dark fruit flavors and supple tannins.
