What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Editorial Reviews

A touch of brett or maybe Mourvedre on the nose with smoky notes of firepit, leather and cured meats. In the mouth this is opulent and velvety with a core of deep wild berry fruit that has a nice edge of gamey meatiness. This is balanced and rich with a nice spicy, minty character and touch of vanilla that powers through on the layered finish. Still young and enjoyable for it’s brash fruit but on the cusp of developing some real complexity. 87pts

Reviews

Earthy with a cool bramble and fig flavor. In the mid palate the wine offers plums but is tempered by an animal character (fleshiness).
