Paraduxx Napa Valley 2004
Notes on the Paraduxx Zinfandel Blend Napa Valley 2004 : CONNOISSEUR'S GUIDE REVIEW: 92 POINTS 65% Zinfandel; 28% Cabernet Sauvignon; 7% Merlot. Deeply fruited and redolent of ripe currants, blackberries, briary spice and a wee bit of chocolate, Paraduxx once again strikes out on its own unique path and comes up something more than typical Zin. It is full and fleshy with fine balance and a bit of Cabernet grip, and its very deep, genuinely complex flavors are as long as they are impressively layered. It has a sense of refinement even if it is a touch tannic to finish, and there is no question but that it will improve for four or five years. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine Volume 31 Issue 11: September 2007WINEMAKER NOTES: Concentrated aromas of ripe fruitintense cherry, raspberry, and blackberry complemented by hints of vanilla, allspice, and black pepper Medium-bodied texture with velvety, well-integrated tannins and a long finish Complex flavors of wild boysenberry, strawberry, dried currants, and nuances of toasted oak.Paraduxx is a unique Napa Valley Red Wine in the tradition of the world's great blends. From the Super Tuscan wines of Italy to the Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon blends of Australia, each great winegrowing region has created its own authentic varietal pairings. Harvested from Zinfandel, a grape synonymous with California, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Paraduxx's goal is to craft a world-class blend with a distinctly Californian personality. With a blend that includes Napa Valley mountain fruit as well as valley floor grapes from Estate vineyards, Paraduxx has rich, full fruit flavors and soft, integrated tannins, making it a natural complement to a wide array of foods. 65% Zinfandel, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% MerlotPARADUXX ZINFANDEL BLEND NAPA VALLEY 2004
It was a great experience being able to taste the verticals of the Paraduxx wine at the tasting room. To me, the 2004 stood head and shoulders above the others. It is a great 'cheese' wine. That's how I've enjoyed it.
One of my most favorite blends - does not disappoint!
At first hits with a strong aroma of vanilla and oak. First taste hits hard with blackberry. As the wine sits it get a bit dryer and brings out some of the leathery flavours. The tanins are super smooth. Very drinkable wine!
