Paradigm Merlot Oakville(1996)

Deep ruby red in color with rather accessible aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, spice, and toast. Flavors match the aromas with ripe fruit being the predominant characteristic. The wine is very round and mouth coating with lovely bright flavors and acidity. The tannins are soft adding mid-palate texture and length. This wine is built to go with food. Pure and delicious.

Good deep red. An initial leathery quality dissipated to reveal aromas of crushed red berries, roasted cherry, mace, and tarry, smoky oak. Strong, fresh red berry flavors offer a lovely sappy quality. Silky texture. Finishes quite firm and young, with dusty tannins and hints of tar and bourbon.
