Paolo Scavino Barolo Normale 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Here is all the philosophy of the Scavino estate. A bottle that is representative and that is made with grapes from prized vineyards, but in percentages that are too small to be vinified separately: Vignolo in Castiglion Falletto, Vignane and Via Nuova in Barolo.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

An outstanding entry-level Barolo and one of our favorites at this price point. Paolo Scavino Normale Barolo strikes a magnificent balance between lovely fruit character and intriguing notes of mineral and spice.
