Cedric and Anne Helene, Chicago's Eve, July 31, 2012
Earthy, woody, and dark cherry scents. Smooth start, a bit smoky. Dry, tangy cherry flavor with a long coffee finish.
Some pepper on the nose, accompanied by dark berries. Meaty, a little spicy, and acidic in mouth. I would buy this again for sure!
Did not like it the first night. The nose was offensive, and so was the taste. Corked it overnight to give it one more chance. The second night was tolerable. Won't buy again.
Very light mouthfeel for such a dark wine. It's actually refreshing when chilled a little below cellar temp. Cuts through spicy food very well and has a light aftertaste.
Very spicy, almost overwhelmingly so. Not incredibly pleasing. Intensity might work for a cigar, otherwise I wouldn't really recommend it.
