intense but rafinate nice red fruits and blackberries aromas nice with duck a l'orange!
Tasted April 2010: This is a very expensive wine (more than $70 for a bottle), probably because Parker rated it a 93 point wine. However, this is definitely overrated (and overpriced). Although the bouquet is really excellent, with a fine structure, a lot of freshness and gorgeous elegance, the wine's taste is only pleasant for a few seconds. After that, the silky berry fruit and finesse are almost completely overpowered by a boatload of horribly bitter tannins and excruciating astringency. What a pity, the wine simply cannot digest all the new oak. I advise to serve the wine slightly cooler than you would normally do with this kind of wine, this helps softening the oak. And drink when young!
External Reviews for Palazzo Cabernet Franc
The Palazzo 2006 Cabernet Franc is a beautiful and elegant wine from Napa Valley. The nose is delicate and floral, filled with wonderful aromas of crushed violets and rose petals, with hints of raspberry frambois. On the palate the wine shows a finesse, structure and acidity rarely seen in Napa Valley Cabernet Francs. The wine dances on the palate with a purity and brightness revealing crushed cherries and raspberry fruit mixed with a spiciness and supple texture that provides a rich, wonderful month feel and a beautiful, elegant finish.
