Tasted at the Wine Century annual dinner: Lightly sparkling, fairly soft. Mild sparkler, dry but floral. Soft finish of average length.

Schön perlig und spritzig, wunderbare Citrus-Noten, DOCG zu einem guten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

Notes of apple and peach and a touch of creme brulee. Quite soft in the mouth with a touch of sweetness, but a tartness on the finish gives it a nice little lift.

RECOMMENDED - Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 Run by two brothers married to two sisters, the Domaine Tabordet estate in Sancerre was expanded in 1988 to include 8 hectares in Pouilly-Fumé. This is located at Pouilly-sur-Loire in the Central Vineyards region of the Loire Valley in France. Grapes : 100% Sauvignon Blanc Region : France / Loire / Pouilly Fume AOC Notes : Initially quite shy but opens out showing floral and dried fruit scents. Citrus fruits and yellow peaches afterwards. A powerful, full-bodied white wine with strong fruit flavours of apricots and peaches. A good length with citrus zest on the finish. Serve : Not too cold (12°C) with fish and seafood. Also makes a good aperitif. ABV: 12.5%

Kräftiges Strohgelb. In der Nase delikat nach grünem Apfel und Birne duftend. Am Gaumen frisch und harmonisch. Jung trinken.

An energetic play on the port style, with excellent finishing cut and lift. Established by Susie and Tony Parkinson in 1988, with the purchase of 32 hectares of grazing land on the foothills east of McLaren Vale, Penny’s Hill Vineyard was named after the hill at the base of which it is located. Whilst McLaren Vale is noted for consistent climatic conditions, the slightly higher elevation of Penny’s Hill vineyard reduces temperature extremes in Summer making for a superior site-climate which in turn contributes to even ripening and higher fruit quality. Grapes : 100% Shiraz Region : Australia / McLaren Vale Maker : Ben Riggs Notes : Glass-staining ruby. Elegantly perfumed nose displays pure red berry, cassis, rose and cured tobacco scents. Spicy, sharply delineated red and dark berry flavors are complemented by candied licorice and sweet chewing tobacco. ABV : 18.5% AVAILABLE IN 50CL BOTTLES ONLY

Poggio Le Volpi Estate covers 15 hectares of vineyards situated on the lower slopes of Monte Porzio Catone in the heart of the Frascati Superiore appellation of Lazio in Italy. The winery, that dates back more than 100 years, is today equipped with the most modern technology. Production focuses on quality wines obtained from selected vines, tended with passion and skill by Felice Merge, owner, winemaker and vineyard Manager. Riccardo Cotarella is the consultant oenologist. Respect for history and regard for ancient tradition of hospitality, very much alive at the Estate, led to the building of a modern tasting area, and to the restoration of the old cellar dug into the tufa rocks under the old farmhouse. All commercial aspects of this boutique winery are handled by Femar Vini. Grapes: 70% Malvasia ,10% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Trebbiano Region : Italy / Lazio / Frascati Superiore DOC Maker : Valerio Fiorelli and Riccardo Cotarella Notes: Made from a delightful pairing of late harvested Malvasia and Trebbiano grapes, with a dash of Sauvignon Blanc to give elegance. This wine shows fresh pineapple with lemon sherbert on the palate and a clean, crisp finish. Truly Delicious! Serve: Chilled as an aperitif or to accompany fish, shellfish, white meats and mild cheese. ABV: 13%
