Tasted out of an automatic self service machine. Expressive nose, soft mouthfeel of truffles, flowers, and wild berries. Fine grain tannins resonate on the finish. A more feminine wine, with both subtle and obvious beauty. 94 points.

If you like "reasonable" full bodied wnes, this one is for you. I think I would say this wine had a nice balance to it. It doesn't hit you in the face, but it has wonderful smooth tanins with a nice long finish. The alcohol one might think would be overwhelming, but it just isn't. The fruit although forward is still subtle enough to keep you coming back to check it out. There is a nice complexity there. I think this is a wonderful wine, new world, old world, who cares as long as you like it. I think you will enjoy this one.

Classic bordeaux blend from Napa. Jayson is the second label from Pahlmeyer and I think some of the best 'values' out of Napa. Definitely pepper and oak in the nose and palette. Some nice tannin structure. Nice wine.

This is one of the best Cabernets in California. If you like a full bodied Cab with character, look no further. It changes it's body several times as it opens.

Pahlmeyer Red is one of Napa Valley's most iconic wines. Produced under the the discerning eye of Jayson Pahlmeyer and his winemaker Erin Green, a protege of Helen Turley, its a wine that never fails to receive rave reviews and accolades. The Jayson Red is made with the same premium methods that produce Pahlmeyer Red. In fact, all of of the winery's grapes are grown and vinified for the Pahlmeyer wines. After winemaker Erin Green selects the Pahlmeyer blends, she composes from the remaining barrels the Jayson Red. As a result, the Jayson offers exceptional quality and value. The blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec. Aged in 85% new French oak for 18 months. Limited!

Pahlmeyer Red is one of Napa Valley's most iconic wines. Produced under the the discerning eye of Jayson Pahlmeyer and his winemaker Erin Green, a protege of Helen Turley, its a wine that continually receives rave reviews and accolades. This 2007 is one one their best ever. Robert Parker scored it 96+ points saying "The sensational 2007 Proprietary Red Wine (a 7,000-case blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) is slightly more restrained aromatically than the Merlot, but there is no doubting its extraordinary bouquet of subtle smoked meats, oak, mountain wild flowers, blueberries, blackberries, coffee, and cassis. Super-rich and full-bodied with noticeable, but stunningly sweet tannins, it possesses a rare minerality and definition, characteristics that seem to be found across the board in Napa’s 2007s. This dense, powerful red needs 3-5 years of cellaring, and should have 25 years of life ahead of it." Limited!

There are 7,000 cases of the prodigious 2006 Proprietary Red Wine (a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec). Most of the fruit comes from the Stagecoach Vineyard and the Waters Ranch. Sweet, smoky, meaty aromas interwoven with melted asphalt, camphor, blackberry, cassis, and charcoal scents emerge from the complex aromatics. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, displaying sweet tannin, a concentrated mouthfeel, and a long, heady finish with substantial fruit, glycerin, and extract. It should drink beautifully for 20 plus years. According to the International Wine Cellar: Good medium ruby. Musky aromas of black raspberry, mocha and smoke. Ripe, lush, seamless and deep; broad for the vintage, with plenty of mid-palate stuffing to support its tannins. This, too, is still youthfully unevolved and will need longer to express its inherent sweetness

Pahlmeyer Red is one of Napa Valley's most iconic wines. Produced under the the discerning eye of Jayson Pahlmeyer and his winemaker Erin Green, a protege of Helen Turley, its a wine that continually receives rave reviews and accolades. This 2005 was scored 96 points by Robert Parker who gushed "The 2005 Proprietary Red is significantly better than what I tasted last year, although I certainly gave it a high score. This wine has fleshed out beautifully. The final blend (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) has a deep purple color, a beautifully sweet nose of blackberries and cassis intermixed with some meatiness, smoke, and a touch of pain grille as well as notes of espresso and licorice. Full-bodied, rich, with decent acidity, excellent delineation, and moderately high tannin, this is a beauty that should evolve for 25-30+ years It is no wimpish wine at 15.2% natural alcohol, but that is buried beneath a cascade of gorgeous fruit and glycerin. This wine should be cruising along brilliantly in 2030+." Very Limited!

The 2000 Proprietary Red is a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Franc. Its dense purple color is followed by a sweet bouquet of blackberries, cassis, and smoky new oak, medium body, a ripe attack, and a narrow finish. This wine is excellent for the vintage, but it is blown away by its 2001 and 2002 counterparts.
