Winemaker's Notes:

73% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 1.5% Petit Verdot, .5% Malbec. Toasty oak, tobacco, tar, graphite and earthy notes blend with spice, cherry, red berry, and dark fruit flavors. This integrated, balanced wine ends with a finish that is long and persistent.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

If you like "reasonable" full bodied wnes, this one is for you. I think I would say this wine had a nice balance to it. It doesn't hit you in the face, but it has wonderful smooth tanins with a nice long finish. The alcohol one might think would be overwhelming, but it just isn't. The fruit although forward is still subtle enough to keep you coming back to check it out. There is a nice complexity there. I think this is a wonderful wine, new world, old world, who cares as long as you like it. I think you will enjoy this one.

Classic bordeaux blend from Napa. Jayson is the second label from Pahlmeyer and I think some of the best 'values' out of Napa. Definitely pepper and oak in the nose and palette. Some nice tannin structure. Nice wine.

This is one of the best Cabernets in California. If you like a full bodied Cab with character, look no further. It changes it's body several times as it opens.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerhouse red that can be drunk now or will age well for twenty years. 96 points Robert Parker!

The 2005 Proprietary Red is significantly better than what I tasted last year, although I certainly gave it a high score. This wine has fleshed out beautifully. The final blend (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) has a deep purple color, a beautifully sweet nose of blackberries and cassis intermixed with some meatiness, smoke, and a touch of pain grille as well as notes of espresso and licorice. Full-bodied, rich, with decent acidity, excellent delineation, and moderately high tannin, this is a beauty that should evolve for 25andndash;30+ years. It is no wimpish wine at 15.2% natural alcohol, but that is buried beneath a cascade of gorgeous fruit and glycerin. This wine should be cruising along brilliantly in 2030+.

Well-focused on a rich, vibrant core of ripe blackberry and wild berry fruit. This is elegant, balanced and deep, yet well-structured, ending with a long, complex finish that's trim and tight. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Best from 2009 through 2015.
