Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Pahlmeyer Wines are nothing short of first class. Jason Pahlmeyer’s vineyards were all planted by famed viticultural pro David Abreu. His winemaking was done first by Randy Dunn then Helen Turley took over. Now her protégée Erin Green does the honors while world famous Oenologist Michel Roland consulting. This is California Chardonnay in all of its glory. It became a cult classic when Demi Moore tried to seduce Michael Douglas with a bottle of it in the blockbuster movie “Disclosure”.

An abundance of aromas flow from the glass of the 2010 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Chardonnay. Lime zest and honeysuckle lead to notes of vanilla and fondant. Clean, crisp acidity balances rich peach-like nectar on the palate.

The 2010 Chardonnay is a big, rich wine layered with tangerine, apricots, flowers and honeysuckle. The 2010 spent 11 months in French oak barrels (90% new) with lees stirring once a week, both of which add to the volume and density of the fruit. Hints of sweet French oak wrap around the delineated, generous finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2016.

A tour de force, with layers of rich, smoky oak, fig, honeydew melon and baked, glazed apple, this weaves together a broad range of flavors, yet for all its size remains elegant and delicate. A roasted marshmallow aftertaste marks the finish. Drink now through 2019.

Winemaker's Notes:

"Balanced and focused, the wine exhibits aromas of fresh citrus blossom, honeydew melon and slate. The play of freshness and viscosity lifts honeysuckle and crème brulee flavors through the finish. A beam of natural minerality gives structural support to the opulent texture." -Winery
