Ozv" Old Zin Vines Lodi Zin 2012
Oak Ridge Winery was founded in 1934 as a winemaking cooperative of local growers. During the last 8 years a historic landmark has been transformed into a state-of-the-industry winery. Today we are family-owned and operated, proud of our heritage and passionate about creating wonderful wines.
OZV, being one of the fastest (if not the fastest) growing Zins in America, is in my opinion the best value Zin on the market today. Dark, Chewy, ample oak, intense berries and Zin spice for $10-15! You really can't beat this wine for the money.
Very drinkable wine. Smooth, not heavy, low-tannin with berry notes.
Nice! Give 'em 4 a very solid zinfandel with a lovely finish and a nice touch of sweetness, most Zinfandels for me are too sweet and this one is about as sweet as I would like it so if you're a dry red person it could be too sweet. Hints of milk chocolate, dark fruit, and brown sugar. LOL @ one of the reviews above you don't have to be a snob to taste these obvious flavors in the wine just pay a little attention to it :) and enjoy this one, 88 pts. The long lingering finish tastes a little bit like caramel corn and I'm giving it 89 after drinking 2 glasses.
Light on the fruit and a bit medicinal. Finished with drying tannins.
I drank several bottles after breathing for over an hour and decanted. I think of spice, chocolate, jam. The spice notes for me have been light cinnamon and the this does not taste like any Zin, I've had. Very chewy, smooth, with light jam in the background - very smooth and supple
Very nice! Smooth and flavorful with just a hint of sweetness. I'm not a wine-snob, so won't get into the "blackberry with a hint of caramel and pomegranate" nonsense, but if you're looking for a good bottle of Zin, this is definitely worth checking out.
Food Pairings for Ozv" Old Zin Vines Lodi Zin
Unique in color, this deep magenta Zinfandel has a very fresh and fruity set of aromas that include berries and cherries. This matches up well with the wine’s flavor, which consists mostly of cherry and citrus, with hints of mocha and milk chocolate. Soft tannins provide for a smooth finish.
