Owen Roe Syrah Lady Rosa(2006)

The DuBrul Vineyard provided all the fruit for this year's best Syrah. Seattle Magazine just announced that Hugh and Kathy Shiels’ DuBrul Vineyard is the top vineyard in Washington State. We have known that for many years.

The wine is sublime with fragrant violets and spice loaded with berries and a long silky finish. As you might expect, this will not be around for long

Owen Roe sources this fruit from Dubrul Vineyard, marked by soils consisting of many small stones that are ideal for reflecting the stored up heat of the day to the grapes as well as contributing to the unique terroir. Having had several Owen Roe wines over the last four months, I found this to be by far the most impressive. Showing a big nose of briary raspberry and cassis. The palate is rich and intense blueberry, soaring currant and blackberry. Finishes with lavender and smoothly textured fruit.
