Owen Roe "Sinister Hand" Washington 2012
Judging by the traditional southern Rhone-like blend (mostly Grenache, with some Syrah, Mouvedre, and Cinsault), one could consider this as Washington State's take on Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The spice and cedar-like notes on the nose lead to a burst of cassis, white pepper, and mineral like notes in the glass, which continue through the long, lingering finish.
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.
