User Reviews for Owen Roe Sharecroppers Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Add your reviewSour cherries and earthiness on the nose. Same taste of cherries with tart cedar/oaky finish. This opened up after breathing and took on a much sweeter black cherry flavor and seemed to lose the tartness.
Drank a glass at Paragon in Portland. Sweet nose of blackberry pie and some earth notes. Quite sweet on the palate, blackberry pie again, and quite earthy. This is a tasty Cab, just very young and primary at this point. Recommend at least another 6 months bottle age before drinking, ie: September 2009.
reminds me of a good napa valley cab... very enjoyable right out of the bottle , good varietal nose. Buying a half case to put away.. The washington 2007 reds are going to be awesome.
deep red color, grapey, oakey nose with a little cola. generous in the mouth with a medium length finish with moderate tannins
Winemaker's Notes:
Most of the fruit for the Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Dr. Steve Elerding's Six Prong Vineyard in Alderdale Washington. The wine is plush and forward with fresh berry notes as well as a nice smokey toasted coffee finish that lasts on the palate. This wine promises excellent cellaring potential.
