Owen Roe Sharecroppers 2011
Sourced from some of our favorite vineyards in the Willamette Valley, this wine showcases the bright floral and red berry fruit flavors predominant in this region. The Sharecropper's Pinot Noir of 2011 is aromatic with hints of black licorice, candied fruit, spiced hazelnut and rose petal. Flavors of toasted baguette, black cherry, clove and cinnamon are elegantly balanced with the refreshing acidity on the palate. Enjoy now through 2017+.
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.
Strawberry, strawberry, strawberry ...
Still a bit young. Fairly bright and fruity at this point, but still quite drinkable.
Much better than the first time I tasted this at Thanksgiving. More flavors, and better integration. Bottle time makes a difference! Berry and earth, with bit of 'brightness' still there, but definitely not as noticable as in November. Excellent - 89 points.
Excellent. Nice taste. Purch for Thanksgiving @ Wine Warehouse.
Owen Roe's Sharecropper is a well balanced endeavor with a strong presence of fruit and an acidity that explodes in your mouth and doesn't quit. Better to let it breath in a decanter before pairing with something spicy to bring out the layers.
External Reviews for Owen Roe Sharecroppers
The 2008 Sharecroppers Pinot Noir was sourced from several sites in the Northern Willamette Valley, predominately the Eola-Amity Hills and the Yamhill-Carlton District. The long Indian Summer of 2008 allowed unusually deep aromatic development while the mild temperatures helped to preserve excellent crisp acidity. This vintage is well balanced with a lovely plush texture and deep rich flavors of red cherries, cola, and coffee. 2008 is a gorgeous vintage not to be missed! - Winery ** Only 16 in Stock **
