Owen Roe Red Rhone Blend Columbia Valley Sinister Hand 2009
Clear, garnet color bearing beautiful wild strawberry, tayberry, black pepper with red and black currant notes. Precise on the palate with satisfying acid that provides framework for the ripe black fruit and baked brown earth finish. The Grenache lends excellent, festive red fruit while the Syrah and Mouvedre add savory notes: stewed dark fruits, sweet herb and complex earthiness. Pair this wine with roasted fowl, pork and lighter beef dishes as well as washed rind cheeses. Drink now through 2015.
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
Disappointing for the price.
This wine suited my pallet well. Definitely unique in blend and a far cry from the heavier reds I gravitate toward. It was unpretentious and I smiled when I tasted it in spite if myself. A simple pleasure that I intend to buy several bottles of.
