Decanted 1 hour. Nice rounded fruit, very soft and full bodied. The longer it sat in the decanter, the better it got, leading me to believe this one should lay down for another 6 months or so. Will hold my other bottle to see. Finish has nice fruit that swims around the tongue, with a touch of menthol or eucalyptus that is rather nice. Paired with a bold food item (steak, lamb, red-sauced pasta?), this would be outstanding.

Great GSM blend. Soft nose, smooth flavors of blackberry and leather. Long finish. Great fruit. Outstanding - 92 points.

Wine of the Tasting. Excellent GSM blend. Owen Roe knows how to blend wine. Still a bit young, so could have used some time or a decenter. But drinking very well right now.

Owen Roe makes great wines across the price point spectrum. The Sinister Hand is an approachable new world take on an old world blend. The dark berry and plum tones combined with herbs de Provence hints is wicked enjoyable.

This Gigondas (Cote du Rhone) style wine is bright and fruity with a burst of ripe plums, sweet herbs, & baking spices melowing out to a medium finish. This wine has it's own cultfollowing for both the excellent quality of the juice, but also because of thestory. As told by winemaker DavidO'Reilly, a famous Irishman was in a race to homestead some land. Many folkswere rowing towards land, and the first to arrive would gain title. TheIrishman in question knew he would not reach shore first, so he cut off hishand and threw it onto the beach, thus being first to touch the ground.Cheese Pairings: Soft cheeses, Saint Nectaire, Port SalutFood Pairings: Roasted Meats, Grilled Vegetables
