Owen Roe Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton the Kilmore 2010
The deep ruby red wine is enticing from the moment the glass touches your lips. Aromas of blackberry, plum and floral notes are enhanced with a backbone of forest floor and hints of cinnamon, clove and pine needles. This wine is showing nicely now, however, it will continue to age for many years. Young flavors of pie cherries, huckleberry, rhubarb and cola are just the beginning of the complexity found on the mid-palate. A structural blend of sandalwood, graham cracker and spice create an elegant and velvety finish.
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.
Very fruity. A dark wine with a dark tast but smooth and very enjoyable. Drank with baked ziti and it melded very well.
