Owen Roe Pinot Noir "Kilmore" Yamhill-Carlton 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

This Yamhill-Carlton AVA blend is a beautiful marriage of two standout vineyards, Lennè and Merriman. Always a favorite to our fans, "The Kilmore" Pinot Noir of 2012 exudes aromas of spiced cranberry, cola and black cherry. The palate is bright and opulent with flavors of dark chocolate, tobacco and coffee. The mid-palate is nicely structured with subtle, yet luscious tannins and leads to a smooth and lasting finish. Aged in french oak barrels for 10 months The blend consists of a blend of 80% Dijon clones 113, 114, 115, 667 & 777 and 20% Pommard clones.

Owen Roe:
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Very fruity. A dark wine with a dark tast but smooth and very enjoyable. Drank with baked ziti and it melded very well.

Young flavors of pie cherries, huckleberry, rhubarb and cola are just the beginning of the complexity found on the mid-palate. A structural blend of sandalwood, graham cracker and spice create an elegant and velvety finish.
