Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.
Easy drinking for such a young Cab. A lot of plush fruit, but doesn't really have the structure to age for several years, so drink it now.
Everything a cab should be. Beat out 7 other wines at our cab wine tasting in Feb. '08 to come away as the favorite of the night.
Happy that I have a bottle in the cellar. Very nice, smooth wine, not too tannic or acidic, smooth and easy to drink. Might need to pick up a couple more (great QPR at $15-$18 retail). Outstanding - 91 points.
Very flavorful, with sweet raspberry fruit, and a touch of earthiness. Excellent QPR!
Great fruit, nice low tannins, and very smooth drinking. A tasty cab at a great QPR!
Wow...delicious! This definitely needs a year to come around. Tight, tannic, and somewhat backward at the moment. Spent much time swirling this in my glass to get it to loosen up, and was rewarded with big blackberry fruit, saddle leather, tobacco, and a floral component. Very happy that I already have two bottles in my cellar, thanks to the Market of Choice on Terwilliger!
Wine purchased from a wine merchant in Chicago, in search of a Cabernet from Oregon who would appeal to my European palate. Despite the youth of this Cabernet Sauvignon, color shows that the freshness is gone. Nose, at opening the scents jump: prune, cinnamon, caramel, some hints of raspberries. When shaken, a bit of greenness fortunately happens classic Cabernet to reassure the enthusiast Bordeaux. But with menthol nuances very new world. In the mouth, the same brute force that nose. It's nice as can be a BBQ sauce with a piece of beef. Drink knowingly.
