Owen Roe Abbot's Table Red 2014

Member Review by jamessulis:

Introduced at a restaurant to Owen Roe Sharecroppers which was high above any expectations that I may have had. I received the Owen Roe Abbots Table blend as a gift. Opening it with anticipation I was met with an aroma of berry and roast beef with a slight peppery smell. Taste was deeper than a coin splash sound from Grandmas Wishing well. Smooth blend with tastes of berry, pepper, beef, smoke and herb. Tannins blended well with the acids but prevailed with that palate tickle that I love so well. As for the finish of this execellent wine, it's not done yet, still finishing. I don't pass 4 glass ratings around very much, Yum and dammit, pour me another.

Owen Roe:
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.

What a pleasant surprise! Initiially taste lots of fruit, but not overpowering and very balanced. Soft tannins, very drinkable. Would please a wide range of red-lovers. Good by itself or would pair nicely with lighter dishes. I know another review suggested it would go well with hearty fare, I found it to be softer and very smooth. Will definitely buy again!

Sweet raspberry fruit, nicely rounded wine with good acidity and light tannins. Great with pizza!

So flavorful! The zinfandel really stands out in this wine. Decanted for 30 min, and got better and better as time passed. Was so smooth at the end of the bottle that I wished I had another!

Wanted a wine that would compliment a non-red sauce veggie pizza. This worked VERY well! It stood up to the big pizza flavors perfectly. Big fruit and smooth structure went nicely with the cheese and veggies on our pie. And it was delicious to sip afer dinner too. Wish I had brought another bottle!

Great fruit-forward flavor. Was quite impressed. Wines after this one were much more subdued.

From a devoted winemaker and from great vineyards in the Pacific Northwest, this red will bring you much pleasure. A tasty blend made of Syrah, Pinot Noir, Zin and perhaps more. Beautiful and packed with fleshy black fruit character. A good dose of tannins make this a wine to stand up to a variety of hearty meals. Hold for a few years or drink up today.
