WINEMAKER'S NOTESLe Serre Nuove 2003 shows characteristics of richness and softness, resulting from the warm vintage. Thearomas offer intense notes of mature fruit, coming primarily from the Merlot, combined with the complexity ofthe well-structured Cabernet and the freshness of the tannins of Petit Verdot.

WS 91 (10/2006): Superintense aromas of raisin and spices. Full and chewy. Very Amarone-like, yet fun and impressive. Not your normal refined Masseto. Merlot. Best after 2008. 1,840 cases made.

IWC 91 (10/2006): Inky purple-ruby. Very ripe, highly concentrated aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant jam and espresso, with good mineral lift. Creamy yet firm on the palate, with plenty of seductively rich, liqueur-like black fruit flavor. Finishes with a whiplash of mocha and roasted herb flavors, but currently lacks a bit of energy on the moderately long, smooth finish.
