Food Pairings for Orin Swift Red Blend Prisoner Napa Valley
Ripe, wild, lush berries that linger & mix with oak & black tea accents. Bright acidity. Since this is a mix, there is more acidity than a normal zin, so don't be shy to pair with heavier meals. If anything one might err on going with light pairings, and get put off by acid.
You are amazing Mr. Prisoner. You are that boyfriend or girlfriend all single people seek to meet. You are deep, complex, and spicy hot. After one date with you, most wine, especially in your price range, just pale in comparison. Blackberry, spice and without fault you are guaranteed to be love at first sight for anyone lucky enough to spend around $30 odd dollars to take you home.
Had it at Meritage. Loved it.

The 2007 blends the lush berry flavors of Zinfandel, the power and concentration of Cabernet Sauvignon, the dark black fruit of Syrah, the intensity and structure of Petite Sirah, the flesh of Charbono, and a hint of Grenache - all combined for a decadent wine with great complexity. 50% Zinfandel 24% Cabernet Sauvignon 14% Syrah 9% Petite Sirah 2% Charbono 1% Grenache We continue to receive an overwhelming amount of inquiries about "The Prisoner". Not just the wine, but the image on the label. The image is inspired by an original etching depicting a prisoner in chains Dave Phinney received as a gift from his mother and father (Orin and Swift).
A big, sexy, fruit bomb boasting abundant amounts of black, blue, and red fruits along with pepper, spice box, earth, and herbs. Soft tannins, medium to full body, and a heady mouthfeel.

The Beaucastel 2011 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet Blanc, which comes from vineyards adjacent to Chateauneuf du Pape, is a difficult wine to find in the marketplace, as the red Coudoulet is far more abundant in quantity. That being said, the 2011 Coudoulet white is an equal part blend of Viognier, Bourboulenc and Marsanne and the balance of it 10% Clairette. Always showing lots of good freshness, purity, hints of apricot and white peaches, this wine is flowery and very well-made in 2011, which is a strong vintage for white wines.
A light whiff of brioche weaves around a core of plantain, macadamia nut and lemon zest flavors, followed by a honeysuckle hint that chimes in on the finish. Drink now.
The wine has a dense red and black hue that is framed in vibrant crimson. Aromas of Bing cherry, espresso, roasted fig and vanillin oak accents are persistent. The entry is powerful and generous supported with lively acidity while flavors of ripe raspberry, pomegranate and wild berry fruit linger harmoniously. Soft, integrated tannin chains allow the wine to be approachable now and provides for a pleasant finish. - Winery51% Zinfandel19% Cabernet Sauvignon15% Syrah12% Petite Sirah 2% Charbono 1% GrenacheAlc/Vol 15.2% ** Temporarily Out of Stock, More due in on Jan 28 2013 **
