Orin Swift The Prisoner(2005)

The 2005 Prisoner is a rich, fruit forward wine with the ripe berry characteristics of the 2003 with the balanced structure of the 2004. Aromatically, it may be the most complex and evolved vintage at this stage. The nose of this delicious wine is sweet, ripe, quietly smoky and very attractively fruity. A creamy rich nose with spicy licorice notes and mild butter cream. On the palate, look for vibrant fruit; blackberry, blueberry. Tannins are smooth and long.

WS 93, very fruit forward, balanced, sweet, and easy to drink. Opens up nicely with time to a luscious fruit of cherry and raspberry. Medium long finish with spicy zin notes at the end. Wonderful.

Rich, fruit forward without being the "fruit bomb" so common these days. Robust nose without the astringent smell for such a strong alcohol content wine. Complex on the palate smoky sweet without being cloying. This wine is a treat for me.
