Oriel L'Exception(2002)

Vineyards | Winemaking 40–70 year old vines in a walled vineyard in Libourne dating to the 17th century. Well-draining gravel and sand soils. Aged 18–24 months in French oak (100% new). Grapes 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec. Picked: September 28–October 2, 2002. Tasting Notes Aroma: Wild berry and cranberry with hints of cassis, vanilla and licorice. Taste: Deep blackberry and plum with fine tannins and an elegant finish.
