Falerne is both the most expensive and by far the best Cahors available, the Haut Brion of this once-famous region, where the Malbec is king. Bouquet of blueberry, plum, licorice and spice box. Powerful and dense with a very long finish. Potent wine!

Falerne was a celebrated wine in the 12th century that the Bishop of Cahors sent to powerful men to win their gratitude.
