Food Pairings for Oremus Furmint Tokaji Dry Mandolás
This wine is perhaps at the end of its tether in terms of lifespan - although still quite enjoyable and drinkable in its fiery, hot kind of way. A number of barnyard-like scents greet the nose(wet straw comes to mind) along with some brandied fruit like figs, dates and raisins. This wine meets the tongue with a rather sharp drying effect (yet fat viscosity) that might pair well with greasy fare or perhaps Greek food. Not a bad (food) wine at all, but drink up...
External Reviews for Oremus Furmint Tokaji Dry Mandolás
A crisp, dry Furmint. Floral aromas, green apple, spice and a hint of smoke. Great structure will allow this wine to transform into something great with sufficient age but drink it today when you’re looking for an aromatic, refreshing white wine.
Intensives Orange-Gelb.

Fruity aromas of pineapple and apricot join notes of vanilla and dried spice, while in the mouth this wine is plump and round. Flavors of pineapple, citrus and apricot coat the palate, then leave slowly, finishing with honey.
Racy in style, this is full of lemon, orange and spice notes, which are kept lively by the zippy acidity. Very clean, focused and light- to medium-bodied, with a mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2020.
Focused, displaying tropical fruit flavors including coconut, passion fruit and orange set against a vivid backdrop. Very high-strung and intense, with a lingering aftertaste of green tea and apricot. Drink now through 2008.
Bodegas Oremus, owned by the famed Spanish winery, Vega Sicilia, is one of a handful of properties in Hungary that are rejuvenating the tradition of quality dessert wines lost after years of neglect There remarkable dessert wines, previously known more by legend than by taste, rival the best that France and Germany have to offer. In fact, it was reputedly at Oremus, in the year 1650, that the first Aszú wine was made from grapes affected by Botrytis Cinerea or "Noble Rot." This was a full 100 years before similar wines were produced along the Rhine or in Sauternes. Today, Tokaji is experiencing a renaissance, and Oremus is at the forefront.
