Orchidea Bodega Inurrieta 2011

Member Review by dickymac:

This is my favourite wine... I love Spanish wines and this is light and perfectly complements a fish or chicken meal. It's really fresh and has lots of different subtle tones so the flavour comes together beautifully. It's not overpowering and leaves a pleasant taste in your mouth... I had it in a tapas restaurant and loved it so much, it's hugely popular in the Porthouse restaurant chain... Absolutely delicious!

Reviving the traditions with which they had grown up made this project possible, which began in 1999 with the planting of the first vines and has now come to fruition with Inurrieta wines that speak for themselves. The name Inurrieta is synonymous with wines of character, wines that express all the aromas, colours and flavours that are the distillation of a valley in which the vines reach their peak of development. The meticulous care, almost pampering, that each of our plots receives endows their wines with that originality expressed by the fruit, the land and the climatic conditions that the countryside of the Ribera Navarra bestows. Their whites and rosés are fresh, modern floral wines ... an explosion of fruits. Their reds perfume the glass and are silky and very long on the palate; the finest oak endows them with an imprint of smooth nuances, giving a balance in which the fruit and the most elegant tannins reign supreme. Pure velvet that lengthens infinitely in the mouth... Read less
