Opolo Zinfandel Paso Robles Mountain Zinfandel 2011
Appropriately named both for its bountiful bouqet of fruit, as well as where the grapes are grown, Opolo's most refined Zinfandel ever captivates the nose with pomegranate, fig, and cranberry. Raspberry jam dominates the mid-palate nuanced by savory butterscotch overtones. Vanilla, white and cayenne peppers, and cinnamon spice makes for a lively finish. Not yet reviewed; 2010 vintage rated 90 points and 'Very highly recommended' by California Grapevine.
Silky, full red jams, lingers forever, syrupy and full bodied. Delicious spice counters the sweetness. Floral notes held well into next day and let sit overnight. Love this wine.
Four and a half glasses
I've bought perhaps 8 cases of the 2007, and drunk half of them with friends... dynamite zin, very fruity, not tannic, very unlike Ridge or Seghesio, really a fun elegant wine. I assume it will lose fruitness as it ages. RS is under 1% and etoh is 16.6%, but the alcohol is pleasant and enhances the fruit.
i loved this wine. had it with bbq ribs and it was perfect. very luscious and rich. absolutely delectable.

Extremely dense, jammy, and full-bodied, Opolo's Mountain Zinfandel is not for the faint of heart. This is a massive Zin, with Raspberry Jam and Mocha aromatics, and a big rich structure.
