This is a Gold Medal Wine Club Platinum Series selection. The Opolo 2004 Rhapsody is a classy, estate Meritage blend sourced from the winery’s two estate vineyards: one on the mountainous west-side of Paso Robles, and the other among the rolling hillsides of the warmer east-side. A recipient of many prestigious honors, the 2004 Rhapsody has garnered a 4-Star Gold Medal with Special Recognition from the Orange County Fair Commercial Wine Competition, a Double Gold Medal from the Florida State Fair International Wine Competition, a Gold Medal from the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, and a Best of Show from the Grand Rapids International Wine Festival. This Meritage blend masterfully combines Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot to create an elegant wine with immediate appeal. Wonderfully enticing ripe cherry flavors and currant-laced fruits are supported by spicy, toasted oak from the extended time of barrel aging. Its exquisite balance, soft tannins, depth, and bountiful bouquet of fruit will surely keep you coming back for more. Try pairing the 2004 Rhapsody with grilled lamb or beef filets. Aged 18 months in oak. 30% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot. Enjoy now until 2014.
